What is Infertility?

Infertility is defined as the incapacity of a couple to conceive a child.  Either of the two partners can be infertile or present certain anomalies in their reproductive systems.

One in four fertile couples cannot become pregnant spontaneously after having sexual relations without using contraceptives in the course of a year.

This is the moment to contact a fertility specialist.  Currently, 30%-60% of patients such as defined above achieve pregnancy by means of assisted reproduction on the first attempt, and the probability increases with the number of attempts, which is known as, "The Rate of Accumulated Gestation”.  These statistics equal and often surpass the natural rates of pregnancy (20%) of fertile couples without problems, who do not require any reproductive treatments.

The knowledge and understanding of the medical aspects, as well as the aspects that surround your individual case, will serve couples to confront infertility in order to find a solution.
