History of Reprotec Fertility Center in Bogota, Colombia
From the union of knowledge in human reproduction and technology “Reprotec (reproduction + technology) Fertility Center” is born.
During the early 90’s a need arose to create a center to provide high technology fertility services that would above all be comprised of a group of fertility doctors highly qualified with certified training in the best North American and European infertility centers.

This is how three fellow students from the University of the Rosario Faculty of Medicine met and became collegues: Doctors Eduardo Castro Valderrama, Andrés Gutiérrez Aparicio and Ricardo Rueda Sáenz. After having completed infertility medicine courses in the specialization of gynecology, obstetrics and sub specializations from reproductive medicine in centers prestigious centers such as as the university of Westfalia in Muenster, Germany, The Imperial College of Medicine - Hammersmith Hospital in England, The Royal Victoria Hospital of The University of McGill in Canada and Johns Hopkins Hospital in The United States, our three fertility experts spent long discussions after long and arduous hours of work, to plan each and every one of the details of how to create the best fertility center in Colombia as well as one of the best in Latin America.
Step by step we planned how the create the fertility center should be developed, as well as how the protocols would be established for each technique and treatment. There was also thorough investigation as to the best equipment to be acquired around the world for the center’s quality performance, and thus strategic support allegiances were created with entities to perfect Reprotec’s management. This is how in 2002 Reprotec became the fertility center for the department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Human Reproduction for the Santa Fe of Bogotá Foundation. We are very proud of this affiliation as the hospital is the most well-recognized in all of Colombia. We could not have asked for a better compliment.
