A General Calendar Use of Assisted Reproductive Technology
A four to six week period spans most fertility treatment processes, beginning one month before the actual assisted reproductive technology cycle. Each calendar is personal for each patient & couple. - The mid-luteal phase: start oral contraceptives or ovulation tracking
- Begin hormone therapy or other treatment regiment
Assisted Reproductive Technology Cycle
- An ultra sound will be taken on day two of the cycle
- Ovarian stimulation commences with the use gonadotropins. Your fertility doctor will decide which medication & dosage to use
- Then your fertility expert will monitor follicular development through ultrasound, as well as serum hormone levels.
- hCG will be administered at his point.
- Oocyte retrieval is achieved transvaginally.
- The embryo is then transferred
- Progesterone supplementation is applied
- A pregnancy test & hormonal studies are performed
- Consultation & follow-up based on results
